An up-thrust shows that the market is becoming weaker.
Prices will go up during the day (or bar) on a wide spread and come back to close on the low of the day on
high volume. All up-thrusts are usually signs of weakness as long as you have an up-move behind you or
signs of distribution in the background. So for example you have a wider spread as seen on this chart and average volume in regards to the previous bars two bars, so we can go short on 10-15 sec of this bar. We then would close out this position on red bar 7. Red bar 7 has increase in volume than previous two bars and also has a narrow spread 0-1. This means that sellers, and buyers are evenly matched and the sellers didn’t have enough strength to force the continuation of a down move.
